APRIL 2018 FINTANK NEWS

MONTHLY AR/VR MEETUPS

On March 7th, at the VR/AR Chicago Meetup's Hands on Demo Day, over 100 people who visited the free event were presented with the opportunity to try 7 different types of virtual and augmented reality experiences. Equipment for these experiences were presented by virtual and augmented reality companies from Chicago who work with these technologies every day. The experiences included the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Microsoft Hololens, Meta2 Augmented Reality, GearVR, Microsoft Mixed Reality glasses, and Mobile Device Augmented Reality. VR/AR Chicago Meetup Founder, Matt Wren stated, "We believe that in order to grow the Chicago community that uses and works with virtual and augmented reality, it is vital for people to have the opportunity to try the different types of equipment and understand the opportunities that these technologies present."

The VR/AR Chicago MeetUp Meets on the first Wednesday of every month, unless there is a holiday which pushes it to the second Wednesday of the month. The location changes to accommodate the audience and the primary topic for each month's MeetUp is selected at the prior month's MeetUp by the audience in attendance. Details about each event are posted on the approximately 2 weeks prior, on VR/AR Chicago's MeetUp page. All events are free to attend. The VR/AR Chicago Facebook page also posts news and notices about other Virtual and Augmented Reality networking meetings and events happening around Chicago.
